I will overwhelm 'serious boxer' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-bout fight which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.

British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the two fighters met personally to publicize the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Ex two-time unified title holder Anthony Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami venue on 19 December.

Boxer's Attitude

"I plan to injure his face and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, said.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I will really want to injure him. That's my goal."

Civil Exchange

In spite of those words, a calm Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - typically famous for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul rather criticized former Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "ridiculous" after Ngannou declined a match opportunity.

Targeting Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, took aim at British opponent Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul outshines Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer said.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Fighter

Despite saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua declined to talk badly about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.

Jake Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

However, the novice is still one of boxing's largest commercial attractions, frequently receiving substantial financial rewards.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old predicted a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would prevent the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly in the works for two years from now.

"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul declared.

Physical Difference

As the two fighters engaged in the usual face-off, with their size difference evident, it drove home just how surprising this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is actually going ahead.
